I'm a psychotherapeutic counsellor and hypnotherapist who loves writing and painting in my spare time and I've always been fascinated with the power of our own minds.
Based in North Herts I run online and face to face counselling sessions and hypnotherapy sessions in Buntingford and Royston. My area of interest is relational and childhood trauma, anxiety, grief and loss. I have trauma informed experience working with relational, childhood, sexual, domestic and vicarious trauma but welcome anyone who is looking for support.
I know coming to therapy can be a huge step but the moment we make new choices, things have already begun to change.
Counselling and hypnotherapy take us both down a path of discovery. I can offer a calm and welcoming space where you will be heard without judgement and can confidentially explore any difficult emotions at your own pace and start to make sense of what has happened and what it means for you; you can learn useful coping tools to help you rediscover your control and restore safety and stability within your mind and body once again.
How would you like to start your healing journey?
I work with adults and offer counselling and hypnotherapy sessions separately or combined. So you can choose. You may just wish to talk things through with counselling or it may be that counselling is not for you but you would like to explore hypnotherapy. If you're interested in combining both we can incorporate that into your session plan too.
Counselling works with the conscious mind. Talking things through can bring greater clarity and understanding, by sharing thoughts, ideas and possibilities, often even just saying things out loud can change your perspective. We can explore together and get curious about what has happened to bring you to therapy and how this is impacting your life now.
With an integrative and trauma informed approach I draw on Psychodynamic, CBT, Person-Centred and Gestalt therapy so the sessions are the best fit for your needs. From time to time, I may also incorporate journaling, creative or image work into sessions.
Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind and helps restore the balance between our mind and body. Hypnosis is deeply relaxing, a state we otherwise rarely achieve unless we're asleep! It's an opportunity to take time out from a busy schedule and re-fuel but with the added potential of achieving great things at the same time. Once you sink into hypnosis, using various hypnotherapy techniques (such as, positive suggestions, metaphoric visualisations, inner child and parts work), we explore new ways of thinking as I guide you and keep you on track to making the changes you desire and transfer this into a practical solution-focused approach which works in everyday life.
My goal in hypnotherapy is to enable you to tap into this power in your mind; to help you understand and manage your own thoughts, behaviours and feelings in a new way and learn how to use that ability to bring about the change you desire. It's a healing tool you can take away with you for the rest of your life.
Sessions for 18+ only.
